“Home” is a captivating film trilogy directed by Chukiat Sakweerakul, produced and distributed by Sahamongkol Films, Internationally and released in Thailand on April 19, 2012. The movie which was filmed in Chiang Mai consists of three interlocking stories, each exploring a different aspect of life and human relationships.
The first story follows Ney (Jutapat Patarakumphol), a high school graduate and aspiring photographer who meets Beem (Kittisak Patomburana) while taking pictures at his school at night. The two discuss their experiences, relationships, and future plans before parting ways in the morning. The second story centers around Mai Bua Chan (Phenpat Srikul), a woman searching for her husband (Wittur Jai Phonphrom) after his sudden disappearance, only to become entwined in his mysterious past. Unlike Sakweerakul’s previous works, “Home” does not aim to explore social issues, but instead focuses on the themes of love, loss, and hope. Through the journeys of the characters, we witness different interpretations of these themes, ultimately leaving the audience with a sense of warmth and comfort.
Overall, “Home” is a beautiful and thought-provoking film that leaves a lasting impact on its audience. The talented cast, stunning scenery, and careful storytelling make it an absolute must-watch for anyone seeking a heartfelt cinematic experience.
